What should I do if I have health insurance?What should I do if I have health insurance? Dr Pyne is a provider for all major UK medical insurance plans including BUPA, AXA PPP, WPA, Aviva, Vitality, Cigna, Norwich Union, BCWA, Standard Life, Beneden, The Exeter, Simply Health Please check with your insurance company that your policy covers consultation and treatment fees. You will be liable to pay for any shortfalls in your policy. Most insurers will request that you have a referral from a GP or another healthcare provider for your costs to be covered.

What should I do if I do not have health insurance?Patients who wish to pay for their consultation and treatment can directly book an appointment by contacting the hospital. A GP referral letter is not required. Payment for the consultation can be made by cash, cheque or card on the day of the appointment. To enquire about fees please contact Dr Pyne's secretary.

Do the hospitals have parking ?Parking is available at all hospitals where Dr Pyne works. Please go to the Hospital website for the most up to date information

Can I cancel/change my appointment ?In the event that you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment please provide the hospital with a minimum of 24 hours notice. Should you cancel with less than 24 hours notice there may be a cancellation fee applicable.

What should I bring to my appointment ?Please bring any medical letters and test results which may be related to your current complaint and a list of your current medications.

What will happen at my consultation ?Dr Pyne will discuss your medical complaints and undertake an examination at the first appointment. A chaperone is available upon request. You may require investigations such as blood tests and imaging. Some of these investigations can be done on the same day . Certain rheumatological problems can be managed and treated within the first consultation and a follow up visit will not be required. Otherwise a follow up appointment will be arranged to discuss test results and formulate a treatment plan. Treatments offered include medications , injections, shock wave therapy , acupuncture and physiotherapy. Following each appointment you will receive a letter summarising your discussion with Dr Pyne.
